It took us 2 days to get here. The first day we got stuck behind a terrible accident by Three Mile Gap in BC. It took nearly 3 hours to clear up. We got to crawl around the car and watch a show on Dad's computer. That night we stayed at a hotel with a swimming pool in Kamloops. Nathan enjoyed the free breakfast at the hotel.
On Day 2 we entered Vancouver. When we got our tickets at the ferry we found out we'd have a 2 hour wait. But that was good because we got to go down to the beach. We found lots of huge mussel shells and occasional clam shells. We found some living mussels and put them back in the water.
We took the "Queen of Coquitlam" to Langdale and met Grandpa. On the ferry I got to get coffee for mom all by myself and I paid with my own money. Now I'm still waiting for her to pay me back!
This has been our first full day here (at Tia's house on the Sunshine Coast). We have found 18 maple leaves bigger than our faces. And there is one log that is - can you imagine how tall Nathan is? well, that log is as wide and as tall as Nathan! Then I found the stump. Grandpa hadn't even known it was there.
We have seen Towhees. They are as large as a robin, or bigger. We've also seen probably more than 15 bald eagles. They are just around here more than chickadees! Can you imagine having less chickadees than eagles? It is very surprising.
Bye for now!
Emma

And so it begins! I'll love following your wondering adventures (ok, enviously following). Make sure you put up some pics, as well. Maybe one of a bald eagle, Emma!
